Three months after the national Association of Trial Lawyers of America tried to conceal from the public who they really are by changing their name, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers has followed suit, renaming itself the Florida Justice Association.
But the damage has already been done.
Removing the words "trial" and "lawyer" from their name won't erase the harm they've done to Florida.
- In a survey of legal fairness, Florida ranked 42nd.
- The lawsuit system costs Floridians nearly $16 billion each year.*
*As measured by Towers Perrin Tillinghast's study of the total cost of the lawsuit system.
The plaintiffs' trial lawyers' campaign to hide the truth of who they are from the American public by changing their name is their attempt to continue in their same old ways in Florida unhindered.
If they want to be true advocates of justice for Floridians, they'll end the injustice of frivolous lawsuits.
