Five months after the national Association of Trial Lawyers of America tried to conceal from the public who they really are by changing their name, the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys has followed suit, renaming itself the Kentucky Justice Association.
But the damage has already been done.
Removing the words "trial" and "attorney" from their name won't erase the harm they've done to Kentucky.
- The lawsuit system costs Kentuckians over $3.7 billion each year.*
- In a survey of legal fairness, Kentucky ranked 29th.
*As measured by Towers Perrin Tillinghast's study of the total cost of the lawsuit system.
One only has to open up the newspaper to see stories of the damage that plaintiffs' trial lawyers are doing to Kentucky.
The plaintiffs' trial lawyers' campaign to hide the truth of who they are from the American public by changing their name is their attempt to continue in their same old ways in Kentucky unhindered.
If they want to be true advocates of justice for Kentuckians, they'll end the injustice of frivolous lawsuits.
