One year after the national Association of Trial Lawyers of America tried to conceal from the public who they really are by changing their name, the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association has decided to follow suit and rename itself the Mississippi Association for Justice.
But the damage has already been done.
Removing the words "trial" and "lawyer" from their name won't erase the harm they've done to Mississippi.
- In a survey of legal fairness, Mississippi ranked 48th in the nation.
- The lawsuit system costs Mississippians over $2.5 billion each year.*
*As measured by Towers Perrin Tillinghast's study of the total cost of the lawsuit system.
The plaintiffs’ trial lawyers' campaign to hide the truth of who they are from the American public by changing their name is their attempt to continue in their same old ways in Mississippi unhindered.
If they want to be true advocates of justice for Mississippians, they'll end the injustice of frivolous lawsuits.
