Stop Trial Lawyer 'Association for Justice' Name-Hiding and Frivolous Lawsuits in North Carolina.

Two years after the national Association of Trial Lawyers of America tried to conceal from the public who they really are by changing their name, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers has followed suit, renaming itself the North Carolina Association for Justice.

But the damage has already been done.

Removing the words "trial" and "lawyer" from their name won't stop them from doing harm to North Carolina.

  • In a survey of legal fairness, North Carolina dropped from 10th in 2006 to 21st in 2008.
  • The lawsuit system costs North Carolinians nearly $8 billion each year.*

*As measured by Towers Perrin Tillinghast's study of the total cost of the lawsuit system.

One only has to open up the newspaper to see stories of the damage that trial lawyers are doing to North Carolina.

The plaintiffs' trial lawyers' campaign to hide the truth of who they are from the American public by changing their name is their attempt to continue in their same old ways in North Carolina unhindered.

If they want to be true advocates of justice for North Carolinians, they'll end the injustice of frivolous lawsuits.
