Stop Trial Lawyer 'Association for Justice' Name-Hiding and Frivolous Lawsuits in Rhode Island.

Eleven months after the national Association of Trial Lawyers of America tried to conceal from the public who they really are by changing their name, the Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association has decided to follow suit and rename itself the Rhode Island Association for Justice.

But the damage has already been done.

Removing the words "trial" and "lawyer" from their name won't erase the harm they've done to Rhode Island.

  • In a survey of legal fairness, Rhode Island dropped from 35th in 2007 to 39th in 2008.
  • The lawsuit system costs Rhode Islanders almost $1 billion each year.*

*As measured by Towers Perrin Tillinghast's study of the total cost of the lawsuit system.

One only has to open up the newspaper to see stories of the damage that trial lawyers are doing to Rhode Island.

The plaintiffs' trial lawyers' campaign to hide the truth of who they are from the American public by changing their name is their attempt to continue in their same old ways in Rhode Island unhindered.

If they want to be true advocates of justice for Rhode Islanders, they'll end the injustice of frivolous lawsuits.
